But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

Ask Asher: Who Is Your Best Friend?

James asked Asher a fun question: do you have a best friend, and how did you meet them? Here is what Asher said about his best friend.

“Yes, my best friend is Noah. We met on the first day of school when we both got lost trying to find our classroom. We’ve been inseparable ever since!”

Asher’s Best Friend: How He Met Noah

What a great way to meet a friend! First, Asher and Noah were both lost, so they were in the same situation. Then, they found their classroom together. Because they shared that moment, they became friends, and they have been close ever since. Sometimes the best friendships start with something small, like finding your way together.

Why Good Friends Matter for Kids:

Friends help children feel safe, understood, and happy at school. For example, a good friend listens, shares, and cheers you on. As a result, kids with close friends often feel braver when new things come up. The Bible also values friendship, because Proverbs 17:17 says that a friend loves at all times.

If your child feels nervous about making friends, you’re not alone. Asher felt the same way in Fear Not: Asher’s Invisible Shield, where he learns that God is always with him. Also, the Lacrosse Edition shows how respect and kindness build strong friendships.

3 Questions to Ask Your Child About Friendship

  1. Who is your best friend, and what do you like about them?
  2. How did you meet?
  3. What is one kind thing you could do for a friend this week?

Try these at dinner or before bed. Then, send Asher a letter to share your child’s best friend story.
